Gnats!

What is going on with all the gnats? The last two evenings I’ve been chased in doors by large numbers of the little flying bugs. They were pretty bad on Saturday but yesterday they were really awful around sunset. I was trying to help a friend install a satellite radio in his convertible (hence no shelter) and I could barely breathe for all the gnats! I’ve never seen them this bad. The good news is they seemed to disappear as soon as it got dark. Is this the result of some weird convergence of weather conditions? A biblical plague?

Shoo posted the same thing. I went to Washington Park yesterday and couldn't sit down without having to constantly shoo them away. I wonder if it has to do with the bird whisperer chasing away Starlings that eat bugs.

Well, you see, in genetics class the other day, we were supposed to take them and dump them in the morgue (a jar full of chemicals that knocks them out till they eventually die)

But, I felt so bad, cause we had been working with them for about a month now, so I drove back down to Springfield and released them.

They've been in the genetics room though, so they may be mutant gnats... with high reproduction rates... and a love of human sweat. Have fun with em!

So let me get this straight ... you're working ... with gnats? Your educational dollars at work, I suppose ...

Everyone was talking about it at work this morning ... apparently gnats were everywhere? Makes me glad I avoid going outside like the plague.
