The Soft Bigotry of Bigots

Barack Obama on the campaign trail in Iowa:
Obama joined a group of four women in a booth to eat some pumpkin pie and sip a cup of tea. One of the women asked him how his "Muslim background" would affect his decisions as president.
I'd like to ask this woman a question: How could someone's "Muslim background" affect their decisions as president? Assuming, of course that person actually had a significant Muslim background, which Obama doesn't. I mean, what was she concerned about?

What was Obama's response? The Hillary camp has done a great job with their whisper campaign about Obama's past. Yes, the right wing has had their digs too but I believe the majority of the "muslim" attacks have come from the left so far. As Iowa and New Hampshire get closer look for Hillary to pull out more stops. The democratic nomination campaign is going to get much dirtier. And by the way, I am still on record of supporting Obama.
