That Wiley Ol’ McCain

As the stories about Sarah Palin continue to pour in today (I like this one and this one), I’ve come up with a theory. Maybe the Republican Party elders (well, higher-ups; no one is older than McCain) swatted down McCain’s first picks for VP, like Joe Lieberman and Tom Ridge, so McCain took a different route to get what he wanted. He picked someone so bad and incompetent that he would be forced to drop her and then allowed by these same higher-ups to pick Lieberman or Ridge because they aren’t so bad after all. Brilliant! Maybe he can use that same sneakiness to smoke Bin Laden out of his hole.

Yeah but let me change the subject here and say that Obama is bad. Very bad. Worse than you think. Wait, Rush is on now, gotta go. I have plenty of Fox News talking points to unload so don’t go away.

I at least leave my name on posts.

I think Palin was a good pick, although I would have preferred Romney. She has a history of fighting corruption, has executive experience, rarely voted Present, has no ties to terrorists, and protects the lives of innocent babies.

She has a history of fighting corruption
By using her position for personal and political gain, oh wait, that IS corruption.
has executive experience by being runner up to Miss Alaska.

rarely voted Present
Nice to see you ignored the facts from the last thread about the GILF.

has no ties to terrorists
Really? You thought Obama's preacher was bad..... check out this link.

But Pastor Kalnins has also preached that critics of President Bush will be banished to hell; questioned whether people who voted for Sen. John Kerry in 2004 would be accepted to heaven; charged that the 9/11 terrorist attacks and war in Iraq were part of a war "contending for your faith;" and said that Jesus "operated from that position of war mode."

Months after hinting at possible damnation for Kerry supporters, Kalnins bristled at the treatment President Bush was receiving over the federal government's handling of Hurricane Katrina. "I hate criticisms towards the President," he said, "because it's like criticisms towards the pastor -- it's almost like, it's not going to get you anywhere, you know, except for hell. That's what it'll get you."

Much of his support for the current administration has come in the realm of foreign affairs. Kalnins has preached that the 9/11 attacks and the invasion of Iraq were part of a "world war" over the Christian faith, one in which Jesus Christ had called upon believers to be willing to sacrifice their lives.

What you see in a terrorist -- that's called the invisible enemy. There has always been an invisible enemy. What you see in Iraq, basically, is a manifestation of what's going on in this unseen world called the spirit world. ... We need to think like Jesus thinks. We are in a time and a season of war, and we need to think like that. We need to develop that instinct. We need to develop as believers the instinct that we are at war, and that war is contending for your faith. ... Jesus called us to die. You're worried about getting hurt? He's called us to die. Listen, you know we can't even follow him unless you are willing to give up your life. ... I believe that Jesus himself operated from that position of war mode. Everyone say "war mode." Now you say, wait a minute Ed, he's like the good shepherd, he's loving all the time and he's kind all the time. Oh yes he is -- but I also believe that he had a part of his thoughts that knew that he was in a war.

He also claims to have received direct "words of knowledge" from God, providing him information about past events in other people's lives.

And this is different from Osama bin Landen recruiting suicide bombers.... how?
Of course, her religious beliefs include praying for pipelines.

protects the lives of innocent babies And doesn't give a damn about them after they are born. Of course if she would supported a proper sex ed program, her daughter would probably not be in the center of a controversy.

We are patiently waiting for your ever so inaccurate response to the last thread.

Heir is a mispeling, feel free "discredit" my whole argument based on it.
