Our Grand Heritage

Maybe I’m a big ol’ elitist like Barack Obama, but do people really get all choked-up and nostalgic about the old Heritage House? It’s been out of business for years now. I ate there a few times in my life and it was OK for an all-you-can-eat joint. But I don’t think I have much by way of worthwhile memories of the place.

It served piles food and that’s about it. I don’t recall anything particularly distinguishing about the restaurant. The New Buffet City will now suffice. Oh, and does anyone use the term “smorgasbord” anymore. Heritage House was a smorgasbord, you know. It said so right on the sign.

Dave,

We used to venture to the Heritage House on Sundays after mass. I have to tell you that I never saw food displayed like the picture you have on this post. A bit of false advertising me thinks.

Welcome back

I wasn't going to say anything about this subject ... since everyone in Springfield apparently ties the Heritage House in with baseball, hot dogs, apple pie and Chevrolet. But since you asked ...

BLECH ... I only went once with Mr. ThirtyWhat. It was about six years ago ... some sort of work-related banquet. Simply awful. The service was fine ... but the food ... blech.
