I was watching the idiotic Kyra Phillips on CNN this afternoon introducing a story about Illinois serial killer Larry Bright. Leading into the report she said the killings happened even in "sleepy Peoria". Uhhhhh...hmmmm. OK, Peoria isn't huge, say, like Chicago or Atlanta (where Kyra is) but I'm not sure "sleepy" is exactly the right adjective either. A small rural community of 1,000 people might be called "sleepy", but an industrial river city of 112,000 (and a metro area of a quarter million)...not so "sleepy".
