Can we stop calling Fred Thompson the "Star of Law and Order"? From CNN.com:
He had a tiny role in each episode and only for, what, the latest two seasons of a series that has lasted something like five decades? He must of had grueling 1/2 hour days once a week on the set. Sheesh. Sam Waterson for president! At least he really is a star of the NBC series.

Thompson the new Reagan, the savior of the GOP?
Ha!
*Reagan Cold Warrior*
Everyone agreed that communism must be defeated. The contest was looking tougher. Reagan did versus Carter, and then Mondale.
*Thompson Iraq Occupation Warrior*
Most people disagree with Thompson's support of the Iraqi Occupation. The contest will be between one candidate espousing support for a highly unpopular war, which his own party's leader started, and maintains versus any Democrat who will oppose the war.
He has no special charm, nor the looks of Ronald Reagan. He's actually weird looking if you think about it. He never made it to "A" actor level because he's ugly. Sorry I just call em as I see em.
The thing about him is that he sounds southern, is white, and is a male, who can pretend that he has some macho characteristics common to white male southern members of the GOP - he's a daddy figure who will protect us.
But isn't that the same crap that has this country in such a mess? Isn't that what people want to drop in favor of practically anything else at this point?
Also, he's odd. At least I always felt he was. And I made that decision long before the political thing, I guess only by looking at his characters on television.
He has a haggard tired look, a slow dullness that might make some people wonder how it is that he ever thought he could beat a live candidate.
