183rd Finally Getting Wings Clipped

Interesting that the Chicago-centric Rod Blagojevich keeps fighting to keep the 183rd Fighter Wing in Springfield, a city he OBVIOUSLY has been actively undermining in revenge for hating him and not voting for him.

The Defense Department plans to begin removing the 183rd Fighter Wing’s planes from its base at Abraham Lincoln Capital Airport on Tuesday, with a complete realignment expected by Sept. 30, according to legal documents filed Wednesday by the governor’s office.

Gov. Rod Blagojevich, who has been fighting the move that was announced nearly three years ago, is seeking a temporary restraining order in federal court that would stop the aircraft from being moved until there is a formal hearing. The governor argues that he must sign off on any reassignment of Illinois’ National Guard units and equipment.

I have to believe that the Governor wants to keep the 183rd here in hopes it accidentally drops a bunch of bombs and flattens the city he so despises. I mean, what other explanation could there possibly be?

I blame Blago and Durbin for the move of the 183rd. Their diplomacy with members of the opposite party are horrible. I believe Bush intentionally influenced the move as payback for the lack of respect shown to him by Durbin.

Its about time that we left the partisian bickering to the election phase of politics. Once the candidates of either party are elected we should demand that they reach across and work for their opponents. Mayor Daley is a master of this and I am saddened that he has not rubbed off on Blago or Durbin.

Both the dems and the GOP are equally as guilty. Frankly, I am getting sick and tired of it.

Yes, how dare Durbin speak up against the despot Bush. You'd think he has freedom of speech or something.

Geek,

It is OK to speak against him, it is another thing to not to try to work with him. And guess what, Durbin's pompous attitude came back and bit Illinois me thinks.

Of course you would not understand the meaning of diplomacy.

If you looked at the entire list of closures and moves, you would see that it steadily move move/troops from Blue states to Red States. Durbin is so powerful, he caused that?!? Bush is the pompus "if you aren't for us, you are against us" asswipe.

Of course you would not understand the meaning of diplomacy.
I always thought diplomacy is when a country looks at you crossed eyed and it has oil, you make up shit so you can attack it.
