Heard on my radio this morning that the new air service between Springfield and St. Louis will be “non-stop”. Wow. No more layovers in Litchfield? No changing planes in Staunton? Truly an air traveler's dream!
By the way, how long do you suppose this service will last? And does it really make any sense given that you can drive between the cities as quickly when you consider time spent at the airport?

I heard the "non-stop" nonsense on the news this morning and thought the same thing. Nest they'll be boasting that the aircraft has wings.
Funny stuff!
Of course, no one has considered that they might stop at that mid-air diner to let passengers use the restroom or have a smoke.
That's such a short hop that the plane won't even get up to normal cruising altitude before having to begin it's approach.
I hate to be the dissenting voice, but when traveling for work, I'd much rather fly straight out of Springfield and through St. Louis. No traffic or parking issues ... plus it's much easier to ask, "Can you drive me 15 minutes over to SPI" than to ask, "Can you drive me down to the St. Louis airport?"
Last time we scheduled a training school, there were no flights to St. Louis from Springfield and I had to go through Chicago ... what a nightmare.
My only regret is that I don't travel often enough to help boost their business ...
