We Be Learning
I just realized how long it’s been since I’ve heard someone refer to the space agency NASA as “NAH-saw”. As in Nassau, The Bahamas, I guess. There was a time, probably more than 25 years ago or more now, when you would actually hear people mispronounce NASA that way. Not any more. Things really are getting better in the USA.

Dave,
Funny you should bring up NASA after they had to shamefully revise their climate data to show that 1934, not 1998 as the hottest US year on record.
According to the new figures released last week, 4 of the top 10 warmest years are now in the 1930's. So what does this mean.
Although, I am a stout conservationist and do believe in the perils of global warming. And frankly, I think that world is getting slightly warmer. I do not believe that global warming is caused by man.
Although I dont have the data, I have to assume that the carbon output in recent decades was significantly more than in the 1930s. This makes is harder for me to believe that man is responsible since the carbon we are putting in the atmosphere now seems to have had little effect on worldwide temperatures.
Of course it does makes good financial sense to switch out your lightbulbs and buy hybrid cars, so I would encourage that type of activity. But to put the blame on man and the US in particular for global warming is just wrong. Furthermore, this snaffu by NASA highlights how hokey these global warming models are.
RickMonday,
A badly needed citation is in order.
No one is disputing global warming exist not even your corrupt on the take fool of a leader Georgie W Bush.

JP,
If you look at what I wrote, I actually admitted that I believe the world is getting slightly warmer. My only contention is that it is not man made.
A follow up comment from Rick but still no link to a source. I'll provide one: http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2007/08/17/politics/animal/main3178815.shtml
Here's what the lead NASA scientist on the subject as to say about it after explaining that the change was totally insignificant:
"The deceit behind the attempts to discredit evidence of climate change reveals matters of importance. This deceit has a clear purpose: to confuse the public about the status of knowledge of global climate change, thus delaying effective action to mitigate climate change. The danger is that delay will cause tipping points to be passed, such that large climate impacts become inevitable, including the loss of all Arctic sea ice, destabilization of the West Antarctic ice sheet with disastrous sea level rise later this century, and extermination of a large fraction of animal and plant species…."
