MacArthur: I Shall Return

I may write some more on the topic later, but for now check out the Illinois Times article on south MacArthur Blvd.

I grew up near there and it was the place our family conducted the majority its business in the 1960s and 1970s, from fast food to banking, from toys to haircuts. Even as recently as the late ‘90s, I frequently used the retailers on the stretch of road from South Grand to Wabash. It’s sad to see it in the state it’s in.

Dave-

I'm continually disappointed the community isn't doing more to revive this area. I'm not trying to knock any of the efforts to promote growth, I just feel like we need more.

Just up on the SJ-R site: The Chicago Purintron (sic) group has dropped plans for the Esquire property.
