I’m not sure why this is a story. The headline reads:
U.S. toll in Iraq surpasses that of 9/11This suggests there is some relation between 9/11 and Iraq. I suppose it could be seen as sort of an in-your-face to those idiots who continue to claim Iraq had something to do with 9/11, pointing out to them that their “revenge” has now been more deadly than the thing for which they are retaliating. But short of that, I don’t get why comparing the number of (American military) Iraq war deaths to 9/11 victims has any significance. Keep in mind too that the Iraq number here does not include hundreds of American civilians (contractors, etc.) who have died there. Oh, and it also doesn’t include the hundreds of thousands of dead Iraqis (but who cares about them, they should have been smarter than to have been born Iraqi).
