Well, now that I've topped my car's gas tank, I urge you to do the same. Rita may cause another (hopefully) temporary spike in gasoline prices. I paid the low, low price of 2.67/gal. last night. CNN.com says prices may hit five bucks a gallon this time as the latest monster hurricane takes aim on the Gulf oil refineries its sister Katrina missed.
Or maybe it won't happen. It was CNN.com that told me that gas prices were going to hit $4.00/gal. in the wake of Katrina. They didn't go that high, not here anyway, but they did go up sharply.
Consider yourself warned.
