Does this happen all the time and is just never reported (unless it involves Bill Clinton)? Apparently, President Bush yesterday pardoned 14 people convicted of crimes. None of the crimes look to be all that major but I wonder how routine this is and how one gets on the list. Can the president take care of speeding tickets too? Maybe I need to reconsider my political allegiances.
Hat tip to Tom Tomorrow.

Dave-
It's actually becoming less common. I was shocked when I looked it up and found that Harry Truman pardoned 2,031 people during his term. Then the numbers start trending down from there:
Truman - 2031
Eisenhower - 1157
Kennedy - 572
Johnson - 1186
Nixon - 923
Ford - 404
Carter - 563
Reagan - 406
Bush - 77
Clinton - 457
Bush - 53 so far, including the 14 you mention.
Now you don't really expect any patriotic American to say anything that my impune the integrity and poise of our great President Goerge W. Bush do you.
Okay that's about all the crap I can take for a day so I will move on. It is funny to me that the only time you hear about it is when Clinton did it. I will admit that he too pardoned many people, but according to the list above so did many others. And many were far above Clinton.
I am just wondering when the GOP will give up the "It's Clinton's Fault" talking point and realize that he has been out of office for 5 years now.
