The private sector always does a better job than inefficient government. For example, compare the historic Broadwell Tavern to, say, that dumpy Old State Capitol building or the falling apart New Salem Village or the that eysore of uban blight, Lincoln's Home.
I’ve been driving Rt. 125 for years and have always thought the neglect of the historic Broadwell Tavern to be nearly criminal. I’ve actually thought it’s a miracle that it’s not in worse shape from vandalism given its isolated location. I hope some organization, private or public, rescues it.
