Battle of the Forecasts: It's All Tied Up

Game two between the National Weather Service and The Weather Channel is now over. The winner: the National Weather Service. They called it, we got rain tonight. Lots of rain. Earlier today, TWC did change their forecast and called for a 90% chance of rain tonight while the NWS upped their prediction from last night from 70% to 80%. But the late forecast amendment by TWC was too little too late. I make my plans 24 hours in advance (not really but if I made plans much I probably would do so at least that far in advance) so coming around at the last minute is not helpful forecasting.

So the series is now tied 1-1.

I must also add that WCIA's Judy Fraiser had mentioned on thursday night that there could be a possibility of strong storms on saturday due to the warm and cold air mass and strong jet stream flow. As evident with the tornado outbreak in Indiana & Kentucky.

If only there was something more to do about weather than simply predict it.
