I snapped those awhile ago (except the alleyway photo)intending to get them posted, but sometimes it takes a while to let the photos speak.
Here's a comment I just posted on Marie's site:
"Can you imagine the psychological impact that this building must have had upon common folk wheeling in from their farmers to buy goods in Springfield?
It must have given them a sense of being part of a greater good - similar to the effect a cathedral or temple would have had."
The building very much remains the center of the city, and I find it uplifting to set my eyes upon it so often.
No one's mentioned my logo in the upper left hand corner of my blog.
I did that last weekend, and it is directed based upon photos I took from the Old State Capitol Building.
Some folk at work, and the family, say it looks good.
I'll keep it as a motif to my blog until it no longer feels right.
But you're using the "I was first" defense, right? Maybe Marie took her pic last summer. However, if the time stamps on your posts are to be believed, you posted first by 47 minutes!

I make no apologies for posting what I love. We'll all hit upon the same subject matter evetually - Springfeld is only so big. In a way, I get ideas from fellow bloggers, the news, etc.
Marie has been at the online journal thing much longer than either one of us combined - so I suspect she's kind of amused at us newbies.
Like you, I've discovered there's much to blog about. With 80,000 new blogs starting each day I can't understand how it is that the vast majority are posted to just once or twice. People have stories to tell, and they should share them - even if their stories have been told before.
